If you've ever wondered how freelancers organise their unpredictable income, this is the workshop for you!
We'll look at how freelancers need to think like a business, how to get organised, and how to get paid. You'll get tips on what paperwork to keep, and how tax and national insurance work. We'll give you handouts on the day, and you'll also get access to a secure website with lots of downloads to help you as you start on your freelance career. It's the workshop you can't afford to miss!
By the end of the session:
- You will understand how to organise your finances into 'personal' and 'business' when you freelance
- You will understand the different uses of the work 'freelancer'
- You will understand how tax and national insurance work for freelancers, and how to keep the right paperwork without going mad
Your Tutor
David is a highly experienced broadcaster and trainer, with 22 years experience at the BBC. Since 2005 he has run a training business which works all around the UK, helping creative freelancers to get organised, sort their finances and have a great time developing their career. He has trained freelancers at the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, as well as unions like BECTU and the NUJ.
His ultimate aim is to stop people wasting valuable time on paperwork, and enjoy stress-free freelancing.
